What is Lip Augmentation?
Lip Augmentation is the procedure whereby we inject a soft gentle gel (filler) into your lips to give your lips more definition and volume. The results will be natural and beautiful.
What is the gel/filler?
‘Filler’ is a common word used for the product that we inject into the lips and other areas of the face. It is Hyaluronic Acid ( HA) which is a polydisaccharide glycosaminoglycan and is found in almost every living cell. HA plays a pivotal role naturally in skin rejuvenation and laxity and works alongside collagen and elastin. When used in aesthetic treatments, HA draws water to the surface which helps create a fuller and natural appearance.
Is the treatment/procedure painful?
Lip Augmentation should not be painful. We use a topical anesthetic cream on the area prior to any administration of dermal filler. The filler used will also have an anaesthetic within it too.
When will I see results?
Results are immediate with any dermal filler.
How long will it last?
HA is naturally broken down by the body over time and this can vary from one patient to another. Most patients can expect the ‘filler’ to last from between 9-12+ months however, this is not guaranteed.
Are there any side effects?
You may experience slight tenderness, swelling and redness following this procedure. Some patients do experience some bruising and this is variable from one patient to another.
